to set something free, after having held onto it for so long. a wish, a hope, a desire, a dream. a dream that, just the thought of, brought you so much joy — why, it even gave your heart wings! but then, one day, you realize that dream, was an illusion. one that you so desperately wanted to believe in. you wanted it so badly, cherished it so deeply, held onto it so tightly, attached to it so strongly — yet now, your wings lower themselves to your sides. but it's all a part of Life, isn't it? waking up from the dream. letting go of things, of people, of wishes and desires. letting go of the 'how,' the 'what,' the 'when,' the 'what if?' the 'if onlys.' letting go and surrendering the knowing, realizing in what ways you've kept yourself blind — in what ways you just couldn't, and didn't, see. and, Life is also about seeing things more clearly, for what and how things truly are. it is letting go of that once dearly-held and dearly-hoped for dream, setting it free, free from your deep attachment to it (or him, or her, or them). Life is embracing what is in your control, realizing the ways that, yes, you kept yourself bound (oftentimes, to feel safe), but also the ways that you can fly free. The ways that you can use your wings — and take yourself to places you've never been. Life is taking chances, taking great big leaps of faith, even when we can't see where exactly we'll land. It is about using our wings. Life is as much living as it is dying, going fast as it is going slow, waking as it is sleeping, spring as it is fall. There is a surrender, to Life — a deep exhale following a vibrant inhale.
Wow, this is really good Christina, thanks!
